Welp, time to save up lol not sure where can i find a classic controller here though (it's Turkey halp meh xd) wish we had places like Goodwill or etc. so we could thrift with ease to collect.

I've only played SA2 Battle. Which seems to be the definitive version simply because it's more accessible, plus a better Chao Garden. SA2 was basically how the game was intended to be played, with better lighting and cutscenes.

I just played the game on Steam with mods that make it the Dreamcast version as much as possible.

> But iirc you can ONLY play Virtual Console games as well as GC games by either a GC controller or a Classic Controller
Real talk, it is annoying having to use the Wiimote to go into GC mode and THEN swap to the GameCube controller.

i love hanging out here, btw is SA2 or SA2 Battle better?? i got a backwards compatible wii with a translucent blue shell months ago and love playing Animal Crossing and Super Mario Bros. Wii on it! But iirc you can ONLY play Virtual Console games as well as GC games by either a GC controller or a Classic Controller which is sad:(

You’re welcome friend!

Oh thanks zoey and kzt! This has been really helpful! though i especially talked about old servers cuz well... i collect! But if it is the safer option i just won't use them for that purpose. wonder what can i do though, there is this channel called clabretro on YT and he has cool videos that make me wanna mess around with old servers.

Agree with kztcaliber

I learned from the same way, W3schools but I also learned from Documentation, StackOverflow, and various Neocities websites (which also has their own HTML tutorial!). I have my own physical server for running a Jellyfin and Minecraft server for friends with a Reverse Proxy VPS to tunnel traffic to it.

I can’t quite say it would be wise to use a Old PC running Linux to run a website (although many websites are running some kind of Linux). Especially when it comes to security. You have to remember that it will potentially expose your IP address...

Just rent from a host unless you are experienced in security, all the security is usually built in whereas you’d have to manually do it yourself, living with constant fear of being DDOS’d, lawl.

I personally wouldn't bother with a physical server... you can get all the functionality and relevant "education" by just messing around with server applications on your regular computer. People really only use separate machines if they need one or more dedicated 24/7 servers running. Different server applications exist for different purposes. Something like those old HP computers, in my opinion, would be more trouble than they're worth to run something even as simple as a vanilla minecraft server.

A good resource to just get used to the basics of something like website development is W3Schools. Some people hate on it but it's decent. That's what I used to learn back when I was in 4th grade and it's improved a lot since then, and it includes reference on everything from HTML/CSS/JS all the way to C, C++, and C#. Programming is daunting at first but if you just take it one bite at a time, the skills will compound and you'll get decent in no time if you're consistent with it. It's a different way of thinking that you just have to build and build.

For hardware and software, I think just exposure helps. Watch tech videos, ask people questions. I'm not really a hardware guy beyond knowing at a basic level what each component of a computer does.

When will the game be finished?

Hehe I’m on the message board :3

I don't know how can i learn to code that good lol but am interested in tech like very very much to be fair. i do want to get an old IBM or HP server to mess around with but i don't think it is recommended to host a site on them (though can it really find a new life with Linux? I mean even a potato can run it) what is the example start guide (for coding, software and hardware) and hardware you peeps recommend?

Dang, carrd has been around for that long? I only remember it coming about in like 2021 or so.

> [881]
To piggyback off what Zoey said, YES, definitely make your own site. Add whatever you want to it. The best thing to do is to just start and don't overthink it. HTML and whatnot can seem daunting when you first get into it but it's really simple once you get it.

You have total freedom over what goes on it and nobody can tell you any different. That's the best part!

"hello it is me zaccadeeeeee" hehehe i remembered that phrase when i saw that link

There's a screenshot of it on archive.org.

Good luck on your Website, share once you finish it!

> [882]
I actually barely remember how your carrd looked like but i do remember you had one before this lovely site. And like i plan to make a site to move into the more "professional" side of being an artist, in fact with email management, blogs etc.

> Soon enough i also think to start my own site
Exciting! Please make a website if you can! They're very fun and like you said, better than a Carrd or LinkTree (although I love seeing carrds too! They still share the same creative passion and artistic integrity as regular personal websites. I used them when I was 14). Share here if you get around to it. I recommend Neocities, they have a cute little tutorial page too.

> like an usually active message board and an image board

I also believe that this site is designed very well!! tbh much much better just a plain carrd or linktree site:p i mean they are good but they lack functionality as much as this one does (like an usually active message board and an image board, even proper portfolio pages!) Soon enough i also think to start my own site so i can try to build a more professional look so instead of staying with those link sites i wanna have a bit more fun hehe

> [204]
I'll get back to you on that.

Hi Zoey, When will the game be finished?

> [877]
LOL I’m sorry

> [876]
Okay first and fucking foremost that button click sound to reply scared the crap outta me lol

Yeah I noticed those backslashes and just fixed them. The problem was using mysqli_real_escape_string before binding params for SQL, so they were literally being inserted into the database, then displayed as part of the string when fetching.
